Tēna koe, ko Te Aupouri rawa ko Ngai Takoto ōku iwi, ko Jana Kite tōku ingoa.
Hi, I’m Jana and I’m a registered midwife working with the West Auckland midwives in the West Auckland area. Offering services during pregnancy, birth and postnatal care in and around Waitakere hospital.
I am an avid believer that the childbearing journey is a completely normal part of life and will do my utmost to be an advocate and protect the childbearing experience, to the best of my ability. It is my mission to encourage, support and empower women and families through the beautiful thing that is pregnancy and birth, making sure you have all the information you need to make informed decisions.
My aim to is provide safe, competent, individualised, women and whānau centred care from the outset of pregnancy, during labour and birth, and throughout until six weeks’ post birth. I am well supported by my midwifery colleagues and will not hesitate to include other health professionals or specialists like obstetricians or paediatricians in the care of you and your baby should any complications arise. I am passionate about providing care to māori whānau, but in saying that, I look forward to creating meaningful partnerships with all women and families, from all walks of life.
Outside being a busy midwife I’m an outdoorsy kind of person, I love the beach and keeping active. I have really varied hobbies, from knitting and sewing to fishing and NRL.
So if you’re in the market for a midwife, I look forward to hearing from you.
